From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Vaspin (Visceral Adipose Tissue Derived Serine Protease Inhibitor) in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate supplied as 12 x 8 well strips and a sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, in which Vaspin in standards and samples is captured by an immobilised antibody, detected with a Biotinylated Anti-Vaspin Antibody, and visualised using an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate read at 450 nm.

Reported performance figures include a sensitivity of <33.7 pg/ml, a measuring range of 93.8-6000 pg/ml and an assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Recovery data are reported for serum (86%-100%, average 93%, n=5), EDTA plasma (87%-102%, average 94%, n=5) and heparin plasma (88%-100%, average 94%, n=5). Dilution linearity is also reported for these sample types across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions.

The kit is supplied with a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips), lyophilised standard, detection solutions A and B, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed in the protocol manual, and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
