An antibody specific for VEGF Receptor 2 is pre-coated onto a microplate, and captured analyte is detected using a Biotinylated Anti-VEGF Receptor 2 Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate.

The assay has a measurable range of 0.156-10 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.063 ng/ml, with an approximate total run time of 4h 30m. The concentration of VEGF Receptor 2 is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and referring to the standard curve. Manufacturer-reported average recovery values are 91% for serum (range 80-102%, n=5), 91% for EDTA plasma (range 81-101%, n=5), and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80-89%, n=5).
