Rat Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule 1 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule 1 (VCAM1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. An antibody specific for VCAM1 is pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. Captured VCAM1 is detected with a Biotinylated Anti-VCAM1 Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate, and the enzymatic reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, producing a blue product that changes to yellow after addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The assay covers a product range of 12.5-800 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <5.2 pg/ml and a total run time of 4h 30m. Validation across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 yielded average recoveries of 91% (serum), 90% (EDTA plasma) and 84% (heparin plasma). Kit components are to be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
