Rat Troponin I Type 3, Cardiac ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the quantitative in vitro determination of rat cardiac Troponin I in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 × 8 well strips, with colorimetric detection read at 450 nm in a microplate reader. The total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes, with a stated measuring range of 31.2–2000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of 10.5 pg/ml.

An antibody specific for cardiac Troponin I is immobilised on the plate; standards and samples are added and the target binds to the capture antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-cardiac Troponin I antibody binds the captured analyte, followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The enzymatic reaction yields a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution, with absorbance proportional to the cardiac Troponin I concentration calculated against the standard curve.

Average recovery values reported by the manufacturer (n=5) are 91% for serum (range 80–102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81–100%) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80–89%). Serial dilution data for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma are provided across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Components are stored at +4°C or −20°C as indicated and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
