Rat Transmembrane Protein 27 ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com enables in vitro quantitative determination of rat Transmembrane Protein 27 (Tmem27) in tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a 96-well microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for Tmem27. Standards and samples are added, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-Tmem27 Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate; TMB substrate is then used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of Tmem27 captured in each well, and concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader and referring to the standard curve.

The assay range is reported as 0.156–10 ng/ml, with a sensitivity of 0.046 ng/ml, and a total assay time of approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Detection is colourimetric on a pre-coated microplate (12 x 8 well strips). Spiking recovery has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, with reported averages of 91% (serum), 94% (EDTA plasma) and 94% (heparin plasma). Linearity-of-dilution data are also provided across dilution factors of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 for the same sample types. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit is not to be used past its expiration date.
