Rat Thyrotropin Releasing Hormone ELISA Kit

A competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) from Antibodies.com for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Thyrotropin Releasing Hormone (TRH) in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The kit is supplied on a pre-coated 96-well microplate configured as 12 x 8 well strips, and quantification is performed colorimetrically by reading the optical density at 450 nm in a microplate reader.

Samples or standards are incubated alongside a biotinylated anti-TRH antibody, and bound antibody is detected using an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is added to generate a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution; the intensity of the yellow colour is inversely proportional to the TRH concentration. According to the manufacturer, the assay has a sensitivity of <2.64 pg/ml and a working range of 7.81–500 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 2 h 30 min. Recovery values reported by the manufacturer were an average of 91% (range 80–102%) in serum, 90% (81–100%) in EDTA plasma and 84% (80–89%) in heparin plasma.
