Rat Taurine Transporter ELISA Kit

The Antibodies.com sandwich ELISA kit enables the in vitro quantitative determination of rat SLC6A6/Taut (Taurine Transporter) in tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips); standards and samples are added to wells where SLC6A6/Taut is captured by an immobilised antibody. Following washing, a biotinylated anti-SLC6A6/Taut antibody binds the captured target, after which an HRP-avidin conjugate is added. TMB substrate produces a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm and the concentration of SLC6A6/Taut is calculated from the standard curve.

The reported sensitivity is <0.052 ng/ml with an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml, and the protocol requires approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Spike-and-recovery data are provided for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma (n=5), with average recoveries of 91%, 90%, and 84% respectively (individual ranges 80–102%, 81–100%, and 80–89%). Dilution linearity across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 is reported, with serum recoveries of 87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101%, and 92–97%; EDTA plasma at 90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101%, and 79–108%; and heparin plasma at 84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105%, and 89–91%. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or –20°C as indicated, and the kit should not be used past the expiration date.
