Rat Synapsin I ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative measurement of rat Synapsin I in tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate and is read on a colorimetric microplate reader at 450 nm. Results are quantified by reference to a standard curve.

Reported performance characteristics include a product range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <0.125 ng/ml. Spiking recovery in serum (n=5) was 80–102% (average 91%), in EDTA plasma (n=5) was 81–100% (average 90%), and in heparin plasma (n=5) was 80–89% (average 84%). Across dilution series of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16, parallel dilution recoveries were 87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101%, and 92–97% for serum; 90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101%, and 79–108% for EDTA plasma; and 84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105%, and 89–91% for heparin plasma. Total assay time is 4 h 30 min. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.

The workflow uses an immobilized anti-Synapsin I capture antibody, a biotinylated anti-Synapsin I detection antibody, and an HRP-avidin conjugate developed with TMB substrate. The reaction is stopped with an acidic stop solution, producing a yellow colour whose density is proportional to the amount of Synapsin I captured per well.
