Rat Surfactant Associated Protein D ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Surfactant Protein D (SP-D) in serum, plasma, lung lavage fluid or other biological fluids. The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, using a pre-coated microplate with an antibody specific for Surfactant Protein D/SP-D.

The assay uses Biotinylated Anti-Surfactant Protein D/SP-D Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is added to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow after addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of Surfactant Protein D/SP-D captured, measured as O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader and calculated against a standard curve. The kit reports a sensitivity of <34 pg/ml and an assay range of 78.1-5000 pg/ml, with an assay time of 4h 30m. In validation, recovery averaged 91% in serum (range 80-102%, n=5), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81-100%, n=5), and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80-89%, n=5). Linearity is reported across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 for each sample type.
