Rat Suppressors Of Cytokine Signaling 1 ELISA Kit

A sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Suppressors of Cytokine Signaling 1 (SOCS1) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates, or other biological fluids. The kit uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate in a 12 x 8 well strip format with colorimetric detection read at 450 nm in a microplate reader.

Standards and samples are added to the wells, where SOCS1 is bound by an immobilized capture antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-SOCS1 antibody is added, followed by HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then added to visualize the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The intensity of the yellow colour is proportional to the SOCS1 concentration, which is calculated by referring to the standard curve.

The assay range is 0.312–20 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.112 ng/ml, and the total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Validated recovery values are 80–102% (average 91%) in serum, 81–100% (average 90%) in EDTA plasma, and 80–89% (average 84%) in heparin plasma, with linearity demonstrated across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
