Rat Steroid 5 Alpha Reductase 2 ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Steroid 5 Alpha Reductase 2 (SRD5A2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay is performed on a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, with an antibody specific for SRD5A2 immobilised on the plate surface.

Standards and samples are added to the wells, where SRD5A2 is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-SRD5A2 detection antibody is added, followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate visualises the enzymatic reaction as a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution, and the concentration of SRD5A2 is calculated from the absorbance at 450 nm using a standard curve.

The kit provides a quantitative measurement range of 0.781–50 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 0.24 ng/ml. The total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed. The product is intended for research use only and is not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
