Rat Stearoyl Coenzyme A Desaturase ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Stearoyl Coenzyme A Desaturase (SCD1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for SCD1. Standards and samples are added to the wells, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-SCD1 Antibody, an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate; the reaction yields a yellow product whose intensity is proportional to SCD1 concentration, read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

Reported performance figures include a sensitivity of <1.38 ng/ml and an assay range of 3.12-200 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Recovery data (n=5) are provided for serum (80-102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (81-100%, average 90%) and heparin plasma (80-89%, average 84%). Linearity-of-dilution across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions is also reported for the same three sample types, for example serum 87-91% (1:2) to 92-97% (1:16), EDTA plasma 90-105% (1:2) to 79-108% (1:16), and heparin plasma 84-95% (1:2) to 89-91% (1:16).
