Rat Solute Carrier Family 16, Member 1 ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat MCT1 (Monocarboxylic Acid Transporter 1), also known as Solute Carrier Family 16, Member 1, in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids. The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, in which an antibody specific for MCT1 has been pre-coated onto a 96-well microtiter plate to capture the target from standards and test samples.

After incubation with a biotinylated anti-MCT1 antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate, TMB substrate is added and the enzymatic reaction is visualised as a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of MCT1 captured in each well, and the concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and referring to the standard curve.

Quantitative performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.055 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.
