Rat Sex Hormone Binding Globulin ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique on a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. Captured SHBG is detected using a biotinylated anti-SHBG antibody followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate, and the reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, which produces a yellow product after addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader, with concentration calculated by reference to a standard curve.

The reported sensitivity is <6.7 pg/ml and the assay range is 15.6-1000 pg/ml. The total assay time is 4h 30m. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and must not be used past the expiration date. Spike-and-recovery performance has been evaluated in serum (average 91%, range 80-102%, n=5), EDTA plasma (average 90%, range 81-100%, n=5) and heparin plasma (average 84%, range 80-89%, n=5). Dilution linearity has been tested at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma.
