Rat Serotonin Transporter ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Serotonin Transporter in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids. The assay is run on a pre-coated microplate and read on a colorimetric microplate reader at 450 nm, with results generated in approximately 4 h 30 min. Reported performance values are a sensitivity of <0.055 ng/ml and a quantitative range of 0.156–10 ng/ml.

The workflow uses an antibody specific for Serotonin Transporter pre-coated onto the plate. Standards and samples are added to the wells, and any Serotonin Transporter present is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-Serotonin Transporter antibody binds the captured analyte, and an HRP–avidin conjugate is added. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution. Absorbance at 450 nm is proportional to Serotonin Transporter concentration and is calculated against the standard curve.

Kit components should be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date. Validated recovery data are reported for serum (average 91%, range 80–102%), EDTA plasma (average 90%, range 81–100%) and heparin plasma (average 84%, range 80–89%) samples.
