Rat Sarcolipin ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat sarcolipin (SLN) in tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, using an antibody specific for SLN that has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells; captured SLN is detected using a biotinylated anti-SLN antibody followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate is then added and changes to yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution, with absorbance read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader. The density of yellow colour is proportional to the amount of SLN captured in each well.

The kit reports a sensitivity of <0.058 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.156-10 ng/ml. Total assay time is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes, and kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed. The kit must not be used past its expiration date.

Recovery was evaluated across sample matrices (n=5): serum ranged from 80%-102% with an average of 91%, EDTA plasma from 81%-100% averaging 90%, and heparin plasma from 80%-89% averaging 84%. Dilution linearity was also assessed at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions, with the following ranges: serum 87-91%, 87-107%, 74-101% and 92-97%; EDTA plasma 90-105%, 84-101%, 90-101% and 79-108%; heparin plasma 84-95%, 92-105%, 82-105% and 89-91%.
