Rat Retinol Binding Protein 4, Plasma ELISA Kit

Supplied by Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Retinol Binding Protein 4 (RBP4) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microtiter plate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, with an antibody specific for RBP4 immobilised on the plate to capture the analyte from standards and test samples.

Captured RBP4 is detected with a Biotinylated Anti-RBP4 Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate solution produces a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; the absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader and the concentration of RBP4 is calculated by reference to the standard curve.

The kit has a stated product range of 1.56-100 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <0.55 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Spike-and-recovery performance has been characterised for serum (80%-102%, average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma (81%-100%, average 90%, n=5) and heparin plasma (80%-89%, average 84%, n=5). Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.
