This Antibodies.com Rat RANTES ELISA Kit is a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat RANTES in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, or other biological fluids. The assay uses a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for RANTES. Standards and samples are added to the wells, where RANTES is captured by the immobilized antibody, followed by incubation with a biotinylated anti-RANTES antibody and HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that turns yellow after addition of acidic stop solution, with absorbance read at 450 nm.

The assay has a product range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of 5.8 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Validated recovery data report averages of 91% for serum, 91% for EDTA plasma, and 84% for heparin plasma. The kit is intended for use with a colourimetric microplate reader and is reactive with rat samples.
