Rat Protein Kinase C Beta 1 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Protein Kinase C Beta 1 (PKC beta 1) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates or other biological fluids. It employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique: an antibody specific for PKC beta 1 is pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate, samples and standards are added, and a Biotinylated Anti-PKC beta 1 Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate are applied. A TMB substrate is used to visualize the reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; the density of yellow is proportional to PKC beta 1 concentration and is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader against a standard curve.

The reported assay range is 0.156-10 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.057 ng/ml. The assay is colourmetric, run on a pre-coated microplate of 12 x 8 well strips, and the total assay time is 4h 30m. It is intended for use with a Colorimetric Microplate Reader, and components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed; the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
