Rat Protein Kinase C Alpha ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this assay kit is a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Protein Kinase C Alpha (PKC alpha) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and other biological fluids. The kit is reactive with rat samples and is intended for use with a colorimetric microplate reader.

The pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) is supplied with an antibody specific for PKC alpha. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, and captured PKC alpha is detected using a biotinylated anti-PKC alpha antibody followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. The reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, producing a blue colour that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm. The assay has a reported range of 0.625-40 ng/ml, a sensitivity of 0.237 ng/ml, and a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Validation data (n=5) show recovery ranges of 80%-102% (average 91%) for serum, 81%-100% (average 90%) for EDTA plasma, and 80%-89% (average 84%) for heparin plasma.
