Rat Protein C ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Protein C in plasma. The assay uses a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for Protein C. Standards and samples are added to the wells, where Protein C is captured by the immobilized antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Protein C Antibody binds the captured target, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a blue-coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and the Protein C concentration is calculated by reference to a standard curve.

The assay has a working range of 1.56-100 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <0.42 ng/ml, with a total run time of 4 hours 30 minutes. The platform is a pre-coated microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, and detection is colorimetric. Reported sample recovery ranges from source data are: Serum 80-102% (average 91%, n=5), EDTA Plasma 81-100% (average 90%, n=5), and Heparin Plasma 80-89% (average 84%, n=5).
