Rat Prostaglandin Endoperoxide Synthase 2 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat COX2/Cyclooxygenase 2 (Prostaglandin Endoperoxide Synthase 2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) carrying an antibody specific for COX2/Cyclooxygenase 2. After addition of standards and samples, a biotinylated anti-COX2/Cyclooxygenase 2 antibody and HRP-avidin conjugate are applied sequentially, and TMB substrate is used to visualise the enzymatic reaction. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and the analyte concentration is calculated against the standard curve.

The manufacturer specifies an assay range of 78.1-5000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of 25.7 pg/ml. Total assay time is 4h 30m and components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed; the kit should not be used past its expiration date. Reported spiked-recovery values (n=5) are: serum 80%-102% (average 91%), EDTA plasma 81%-100% (average 90%) and heparin plasma 80%-89% (average 84%). Corresponding linearity ranges across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions are also provided in the manufacturer documentation.
