Rat Proprotein Convertase Subtilisin/Kexin Type 1 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat PC1/3 (Proprotein Convertase Subtilisin/Kexin Type 1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a 96-well microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for PC1/3. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where PC1/3 is captured by the immobilized antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-PC1/3 Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then applied; the resulting blue product turns yellow upon addition of stop solution, and the yellow intensity is proportional to the PC1/3 concentration in each well. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and the concentration is calculated from the standard curve.

The reported sensitivity is <1.44 ng/ml and the assay range is 3.12–200 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4h 30m. Recovery data supplied by the manufacturer average 91% for serum (n=5, range 80%–102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (n=5, range 81%–100%), and 84% for heparin plasma (n=5, range 80%–89%). Linearity information is also provided for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across serial dilutions. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
