From Antibodies.com, this Rat Proopiomelanocortin ELISA Kit is a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat POMC in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The test uses a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for POMC; bound analyte is revealed with a biotinylated anti-POMC antibody, an HRP-avidin conjugate, and a TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The assay covers a product range of 0.156–10 ng/ml with a stated sensitivity of 0.051 ng/ml and a total run time of 4h 30m. Validated sample types include serum (average recovery 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma (90%, n=5), and heparin plasma (84%, n=5).
