Rat Prolylcarboxypeptidase ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Prolylcarboxypeptidase (PRCP) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique using an antibody specific for PRCP that is pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, and following incubation and washing, a biotinylated anti-PRCP antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate are added to detect the captured PRCP. A TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a coloured product whose absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader; the concentration of PRCP is calculated by reference to the standard curve.

The sensitivity is 0.042 ng/ml and the assay range is 0.156–10 ng/ml. Detection is colourimetric and the total assay time is 4h 30m. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.

Reported recovery values across sample types (n=5) are: serum 80–102% (average 91%), EDTA plasma 81–100% (average 90%), and heparin plasma 80–89% (average 84%). Dilution linearity data are also reported for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions.
