Rat Procollagen II N-Terminal Propeptide ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Procollagen II N-Terminal Propeptide in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, or other biological fluids.

The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips and employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Standards and samples are captured by an immobilised antibody, detected with a biotinylated anti-target antibody, and visualised using an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The enzymatic reaction produces a blue colour that turns yellow after addition of acidic stop solution, and absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader to calculate concentration against a standard curve.

Performance specifications include a product range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.124 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Spike-and-recovery testing across serum (n=5), EDTA plasma (n=5), and heparin plasma (n=5) yielded average recoveries of 91% (range 80%–102%), 90% (range 81%–100%), and 84% (range 80%–89%), respectively. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed and should not be used past the kit expiration date.
