Rat Phospholipase A2, Lipoprotein Associated ELISA Kit

The Antibodies.com kit is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids. The assay employs a pre-coated microplate, a biotinylated anti-Lp-PLA2 detection antibody, and an HRP-avidin conjugate, with a TMB substrate that produces a yellow-coloured product after addition of an acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader, and Lp-PLA2 concentration is calculated against a standard curve.

The manufacturer reports a product range of 0.312–20 ng/ml, a sensitivity of <0.105 ng/ml, and a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Kit components are stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date. The kit is cited in 1 publication.

Reported spike-and-recovery values were: serum, average 91% (range 80–102%, n=5); EDTA plasma, average 91% (range 81–101%, n=5); and heparin plasma, average 84% (range 80–89%, n=5). Dilution linearity across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions was reported for serum (87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101%, 92–97%), EDTA plasma (90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101%, 79–108%), and heparin plasma (84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105%, 89–91%).
