Rat Phospholipase A2, Calcium Independent ELISA Kit

Antibodies.com offers a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Calcium-Independent Phospholipase A2/PLA2G6 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique: an antibody specific for Calcium-Independent Phospholipase A2/PLA2G6 is pre-coated onto a microtiter plate, standards and test samples are bound by the immobilised antibody, and detection is carried out with a biotinylated anti-PLA2G6 antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate solution is used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a colour change that is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader, with the analyte concentration calculated against a standard curve.

Performance characteristics include a measuring range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.13 ng/ml. Reported recovery in serum (n=5) ranges from 80% to 102% with an average of 91%; in EDTA plasma (n=5) from 81% to 100% with an average of 90%; and in heparin plasma (n=5) from 80% to 89% with an average of 84%. Dilution linearity at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 is reported across the same sample types. The total assay time is 4h 30m. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the product should not be used past its expiration date.
