Rat Period Circadian Protein 2 ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Period Circadian Protein 2 (PER2) in tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate in a 12 x 8 well strip format and is read at 450 nm using a colorimetric microplate reader.

The assay has a reported range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.101 ng/ml, with a total run time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Standards and samples are added to wells pre-coated with an antibody specific for PER2, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-PER2 Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualize the reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow after the addition of acidic stop solution; the density of yellow is proportional to the amount of PER2 captured in each well, allowing the concentration to be calculated by referring to the standard curve.
