Rat Pentraxin 3, Long ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Pentraxin 3/PTX3 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids.

The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for Pentraxin 3/PTX3 is pre-coated onto a 96-well microtiter plate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells and Pentraxin 3/PTX3 present in each sample is captured by the immobilized antibody. Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Pentraxin 3/PTX3 Antibody is added, which binds the captured analyte. HRP-Avidin conjugate is then added, and after further washing, TMB substrate solution is used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of Pentraxin 3/PTX3 captured in each well, and concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader and referring to the standard curve.

The kit has a sensitivity of <0.105 ng/ml and a product range of 0.312-20 ng/ml. Detection is colorimetric and the total assay time is 4h 30m. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
