Rat Oxidized Low Density Lipoprotein ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Oxidized LDL in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The kit is reactive with rat samples and targets Oxidized Low Density Lipoprotein.

The assay employs a pre-coated microplate platform arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, with an antibody specific for Oxidized LDL immobilised on the wells. Standards and test samples are added so that the target is captured, followed by incubation with a Biotinylated Anti-Oxidized LDL Antibody and then an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate solution is used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of Oxidized LDL captured. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and the concentration is calculated from a standard curve. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.

Reported sensitivity is <1.44 ng/ml, with an assay range of 3.13-200 ng/ml and a total assay time of 4h 30m. Average recovery values reported for serum (n=5), EDTA plasma (n=5) and heparin plasma (n=5) are 91%, 90% and 84% respectively.
