Rat Ornithine Decarboxylase ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative in vitro determination of rat Ornithine Decarboxylase (ODC) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. The assay employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate to which standards and samples are added; bound ODC is detected using a Biotinylated Anti-ODC Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. The enzymatic reaction is visualised with TMB substrate and the resulting optical density is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader, with ODC concentration calculated against the standard curve.

The kit has a working detection range of 0.156–10 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <0.059 ng/ml, with a total assay time of approximately 4h 30m. Reported mean recoveries from spiked samples are 91% in serum (range 80–102%, n=5), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81–100%, n=5) and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80–89%, n=5), and linearity has been demonstrated across serial dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 for serum (87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101%, 92–97%), EDTA plasma (90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101%, 79–108%) and heparin plasma (84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105%, 89–91%), each tested at n=5. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed and not used past the stated expiration date.
