Rat Ornithine Carbamoyl Transferase ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this Sandwich ELISA is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Ornithine Carbamoyltransferase (OTC) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids.

The assay employs an antibody specific for Ornithine Carbamoyltransferase/OTC pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate. Standards and samples are added to the wells, and the captured target is detected using a Biotinylated Anti-OTC Antibody followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a blue colour that changes to yellow upon addition of stop solution; the intensity is proportional to the amount of OTC captured and is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader against a standard curve. The kit has a working range of 0.625–40 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.228 ng/ml, with an assay time of 4h 30m on a colourimetric pre-coated microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips.

Reported sample recovery (n=5) across dilutions of 1:2 to 1:16 spans 80–102% for serum, 81–100% for EDTA plasma and 80–89% for heparin plasma. Kit components are stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed, and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
