From Antibodies.com, this rat nNOS (neuronal) ELISA Kit is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) for the in vitro quantitative determination of neuronal Nitric Oxide Synthase 1 in rat tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips and pairs a biotinylated detection antibody with an HRP-Avidin conjugate; TMB substrate produces a yellow product whose absorbance is read at 450 nm.

Reported performance includes a standard range of 0.156–10 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.059 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes on a colorimetric microplate reader. Spike-and-recovery testing across sample types (n=5) gave averages of 91% for serum (range 80%–102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81%–100%), and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80%–89%). Dilution linearity is reported at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma.
