Rat Neutrophil Gelatinase Associated Lipocalin ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Lipocalin-2/NGAL, also referred to as Neutrophil Gelatinase Associated Lipocalin. The assay is suitable for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with detection performed using a colorimetric microplate reader.

The kit uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips and follows a standard sandwich immunoassay workflow involving a biotinylated anti-Lipocalin-2/NGAL detection antibody, an HRP-avidin conjugate and a TMB substrate. Absorbance is read at 450 nm and the concentration of Lipocalin-2/NGAL is calculated by reference to a standard curve. The product range is 78.1–5000 pg/ml, sensitivity is <27 pg/ml, and the total assay time is 4h 30m.

Reported recovery ranges (n=5) are 80–102% for serum (average 91%), 81–100% for EDTA plasma (average 90%) and 80–89% for heparin plasma (average 84%). Kit components are stored between +4°C and -20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
