Rat Neurofilament, Heavy Polypeptide ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Neurofilament Heavy Polypeptide in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids. The assay employs a 96-well microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for Neurofilament Heavy Polypeptide. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where the target binds to the immobilized antibody. Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Neurofilament Heavy Polypeptide Antibody is added, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualize the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow after addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm using a colorimetric microplate reader, and target concentration is calculated by reference to a standard curve.

The assay reports a sensitivity of 5.7 pg/ml and a product range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Recovery performance has been validated for serum (range 80-102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (range 81-100%, average 90%), and heparin plasma (range 80-89%, average 84%), based on n=5 samples. Linearity data is provided across dilution factors of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 for the same sample types.
