Rat Mucin 2 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) kit from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat MUC2 (Mucin 2) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates, or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips), where an antibody specific for MUC2 is immobilised. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, allowing MUC2 in each sample to bind to the immobilised antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-MUC2 Antibody is added, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate solution is then used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The yellow intensity is proportional to the amount of MUC2 captured, and concentration is calculated by reading O.D. absorbance at 450 nm against a standard curve.

Sensitivity is <0.122 ng/ml and the assay range is 0.312-20 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4h 30m, and the assay is read on a colorimetric microplate reader. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
