Rat Monoamine Oxidase A ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com enables quantitative in vitro determination of Monoamine Oxidase A in rat serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a 96-well pre-coated microplate with an antibody specific for Monoamine Oxidase A immobilised on the wells. Standards and samples are added, followed by a biotinylated anti-Monoamine Oxidase A detection antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate. Signal is visualised using TMB substrate, producing a blue product that becomes yellow after addition of acidic stop solution; the absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader and is proportional to the amount of Monoamine Oxidase A captured in each well.

Reported sensitivity is 0.062 ng/ml and the standard curve range is 0.156–10 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Sample recovery is quoted at 80%–102% (average 91%) for serum, 81%–100% (average 90%) for EDTA plasma and 80%–89% (average 84%) for heparin plasma. Dilution linearity data is provided for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions. Kit components are stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
