Rat Matrix Metalloproteinase 13 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat MMP13 in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The Rat MMP13 ELISA Kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, using a pre-coated 96-well microplate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where MMP13 is captured by the immobilised antibody. Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-MMP13 Antibody binds the captured MMP13. After addition of an HRP-Avidin conjugate and further incubation, TMB substrate produces a blue colour that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and MMP13 concentration is calculated by reference to the standard curve.

Reported sensitivity is 0.138 ng/ml with a working range of 0.312-20 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes and detection is colorimetric. Sample recovery (n=5) averaged 91% in serum (range 83-100%), 96% in EDTA plasma (range 90-103%) and 95% in heparin plasma (range 89-102%). Dilution linearity across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions was 79-110% for serum, 73-109% for EDTA plasma and 77-110% for heparin plasma. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed.
