Rat Matrix Metalloproteinase 1 ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Matrix Metalloproteinase 1 (MMP1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids.

The assay uses a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for MMP1. Standards and samples are added to the wells and any MMP1 present is captured by the immobilised antibody. After incubation and washing, a biotinylated anti-MMP1 antibody is added, followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. The enzymatic reaction is visualised using TMB substrate, producing a blue-coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader, and the MMP1 concentration is calculated against the standard curve.

With a reported assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes, a measuring range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <6.7 pg/ml, the kit has been validated with the following recovery ranges: serum 80–102% (average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma 81–100% (average 90%, n=5), and heparin plasma 80–89% (average 84%, n=5). Kit components are stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed.
