Rat Matrix Gla Protein ELISA Kit

An ELISA from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Matrix Gla Protein (Mgp). Using a sandwich enzyme immunoassay format, the kit is suitable for measuring Mgp in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. An antibody specific for Mgp is pre-coated onto the microplate; standards and samples are added, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-Mgp Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a blue-coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of the stop solution, and the colourmetric signal is read at 450 nm. Mgp concentration is calculated by reference to the standard curve.

The working range is 93.8–6000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <39.65 pg/ml and a total assay time of 4h 30m. Sample recovery in undiluted serum averaged 91% (range 80–102%, n=5); EDTA plasma averaged 90% (range 81–100%, n=5); heparin plasma averaged 84% (range 80–89%, n=5). Components include lyophilised standard, detection solutions A and B, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution, and plate sealers, stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed. The kit should not be used past its expiration date.
