Rat Maternal Embryonic Leucine Zipper Kinase ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this Sandwich ELISA kit is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Maternal Embryonic Leucine Zipper Kinase (MELK) in tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate format (12 x 8 well strips) with an antibody specific for MELK immobilised on the plate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-MELK Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate is then added to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm using a colorimetric microplate reader and the concentration of MELK is calculated by reference to a standard curve.

The reported assay range is 0.156-10 ng/ml, with a stated sensitivity of 0.063 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4h 30m. Sample recovery values reported by the manufacturer are: serum (n=5) 80%-102%, average 91%; EDTA plasma (n=5) 81%-100%, average 90%; heparin plasma (n=5) 80%-89%, average 84%.
