Rat Macrophage Migration Inhibitory Factor ELISA Kit

This Antibodies.com sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Macrophage Migration Inhibitory Factor (MIF) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, with colorimetric detection read at 450 nm on a microplate reader.

The standard sandwich format employs a biotinylated anti-MIF detection antibody with HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate, producing a yellow product whose intensity is proportional to MIF concentration. The assay covers a range of 1.56-100 pg/ml with a reported sensitivity of <0.68 pg/ml, and total run time is approximately 4h 30m. Reported spike-and-recovery values are: serum (n=5) 80%-102% (average 91%), EDTA plasma (n=5) 81%-100% (average 90%) and heparin plasma (n=5) 80%-89% (average 84%). Dilution linearity for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions is also provided. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as indicated in the protocol.
