Rat Lipopolysaccharide Binding Protein ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Lipopolysaccharide Binding Protein (LBP) in serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microtiter plate with an antibody specific for LBP. Standards and test samples are added into the wells, and LBP present in each sample is bound by the immobilized antibody. Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-LBP Antibody binds the captured LBP, after which HRP-Avidin conjugate is added. TMB substrate solution is used to visualize the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of LBP captured per well, and concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader against the standard curve.

The kit reports a sensitivity of <0.139 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.312-20 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Reported recovery values across sample types (n=5) were 80-102% for serum, 81-100% for EDTA plasma, and 80-89% for heparin plasma. Components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
