Rat Leptin ELISA Kit

Supplied by Antibodies.com, this kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Leptin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, or other biological fluids, using a sandwich ELISA format. The microplate is pre-coated with an antibody specific for Leptin; standards and samples are added, the captured Leptin is bound by a Biotinylated Anti-Leptin Antibody, and detection proceeds via an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The reaction is stopped by an acidic stop solution and read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader, with Leptin concentration calculated against the standard curve.

The assay reports a product range of 0.312-20 ng/ml, a sensitivity of <0.132 ng/ml, and a total assay time of 4h 30m. Recovery evaluated on 5 samples per matrix ranges from 80%-102% for serum (average 91%), 81%-100% for EDTA plasma (average 90%), and 80%-89% for heparin plasma (average 84%). Linear dilution behaviour, as provided by the manufacturer, was characterised at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 across serum (74%-107%), EDTA plasma (79%-108%), and heparin plasma (82%-105%) with n=5 per matrix.

Kit components should be stored at either +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the product should not be used after its expiration date.
