Rat Interleukin 5 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat interleukin-5 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microtiter plate configured as 12 x 8 well strips and follows the standard sandwich immunoassay workflow: standards and samples are added to wells where IL-5 is captured by the immobilised antibody, followed by incubation with a biotinylated anti-IL-5 antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate.

TMB substrate produces a blue product that changes to yellow after the addition of acidic stop solution, with absorbance read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and the concentration calculated against the standard curve. The assay range is 15.6-1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <6.4 pg/ml, and the total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported recovery ranges (n=5) are 80%-102% for serum, 81%-100% for EDTA plasma and 80%-89% for heparin plasma.
