Rat Interleukin 3 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Interleukin 3 (IL-3) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The procedure uses a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for IL-3. Standards and test samples are added to the wells and the IL-3 present in each sample is bound by the immobilised antibody. Following incubation and washing, a biotinylated anti-IL-3 antibody is added, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and the concentration of IL-3 is calculated by reference to the standard curve.

According to the manufacturer's specification, the standard product range is 15.6–1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 6.2 pg/ml. The platform is a pre-coated microplate arranged as 12 × 8 well strips, the assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes and detection is colorimetric (OD450). Kit components are stored at +4 °C or –20 °C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
