Rat Interleukin 2 Receptor Alpha ELISA Kit

Antibodies.com offers a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat IL-2 Receptor alpha in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay is suitable for rat samples and employs the quantitative sandwich immunoassay technique to measure IL-2 Receptor alpha concentrations.

The kit uses a pre-coated microplate to which an antibody specific for IL-2 Receptor alpha has been immobilised. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where IL-2 Receptor alpha is captured by the coated antibody. Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-IL-2 Receptor alpha Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate solution is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of an acidic stop solution. The density of the yellow colour is proportional to the amount of IL-2 Receptor alpha captured in each well. The concentration of IL-2 Receptor alpha is calculated by reading the absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader and referring to a standard curve.

The assay has a stated sensitivity of <0.051 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml. In spike-and-recovery testing, average recovery was 91% in serum (range 80%–102%), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81%–100%) and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80%–89%). Linearity of dilution was demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Total assay time is 4h 30m, with colourimetric detection on a pre-coated microplate platform. Kit components are stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed and should not be used past the stated expiration date.
