Rat Interleukin 18 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat interleukin-18 (IL-18) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, with colorimetric detection read at 450 nm on a microplate reader.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the assay has a quantitative range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of 5.7 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported recovery values are 83-100% (average 91%) for serum (n=5), 90-103% (average 96%) for EDTA plasma (n=5), and 89-102% (average 95%) for heparin plasma (n=5). Dilution linearity from 1:2 to 1:16 is reported as 83-110%, 79-100%, 90-98%, and 82-108% for serum; 90-98%, 90-105%, 73-109%, and 87-91% for EDTA plasma; and 88-103%, 77-105%, 95-98%, and 87-110% for heparin plasma.

The procedure uses a biotinylated anti-IL-18 detection antibody followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate, producing a yellow colour whose intensity is proportional to the IL-18 concentration in the sample. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as indicated and not used past the expiration date.
