Rat Interleukin 11 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Interleukin 11 (IL-11). The assay is suitable for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids, and uses a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for IL-11. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and IL-11 is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-IL-11 Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate and a TMB substrate. The enzymatic reaction produces a blue-coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution, and absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The kit reports a product range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of 5.8 pg/ml, with an assay time of approximately 4 h 30 m on a pre-coated 12 x 8 well strip microplate. Spike-and-recovery validation in serum gave a range of 83%-100% (average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma 90%-103% (96% average), and heparin plasma 89%-102% (95% average). Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the product should not be used past its expiration date.
